			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="KonaBody"><p>Hey if you’re reading this it means you and I both have run up against that &#8220;cant lose weight myth&#8221;, but we both chose to believe it. It wasn&#8217;t our fault though, because our parents, friends, loved ones, co-workers and even people who didn&#8217;t like us, were quick to tell us to give it up, you will never lose weight. Chances are if you were like me you started believing them at an early age, perhaps as early as 4 or 5.</p>
<p>On top of that if it was your child hood friends, they taunted you with sayings like &#8220;Fatty, Fatty, 2 By 4 you can&#8217;t fit through the bathroom door. All of this because you were overweight and it didn&#8217;t matter what you did, it seemed you couldn&#8217;t get it off.</p>
<p>Stop believing right now that you cant lose weight. I&#8217;m here to tell you that it’s a myth and you can lose weight I did.</p>
<p>A short while ago I weighed well over 220 pounds (I was small boned and only 5&#8242;6&#8243;, had high blood pressure, borderline diabetic and my personal life was in a total melt down. I couldn&#8217;t hold a job because of my health problems and the people I tried to work with were worse than children about me being overweight. I was the joke of the work place, so as soon as I couldn&#8217;t take it anymore, I did my best to get laid off so I could collect unemployment or I just quit.</p>
<p>I did that one too many times and my family left me. Obviously I hit rock bottom then. I made up my mind I had to win them back and that&#8217;s when I found out &#8220;you cant lose weight&#8221; was a myth.</p>
<p>Shortly thereafter I was watching the Dr. Phil show and he was talking to people just like you and me. You know the &#8220;fat ones&#8221;. He told those folks they had to stop believing they couldn&#8217;t lose weight. Right then is when I realized that was precisely what was stopping me. I believed I can&#8217;t lose weight.</p>
<p>As I continued to listen to Dr Phil what he said made more and more sense. To make a long story short what he said was I had to believe I could lose weight and that I would have to change my lifestyle to accomplish my weight loss goals. The fact is I started that very day.</p>
<p>My first step was to go to my doctor and have him check me out to make sure I could start an exercise program without killing myself. Then I contacted a friend from my church and we became accountable to each other for each reprogramming our mind and reaching our weight loss goals.</p>
<p>Now here&#8217;s the fun part, we began to challenge each other in our goals, changing our lifestyle (eating habits) and progressing from a slow walk to a faster walk. Today we are up to 3 miles in just under 36 minutes.</p>
<p>Was this easy? Heck No! But I have lost 53 pounds and my friend has lost 47 pounds. The important thing is we have gotten it off and kept it off for more than a year. I&#8217;m now working and my family has allowed me back into their life. Is everything rosy, no but it&#8217;s a whole lot better than it was.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m living proof you cant lose weight is a myth. You need to search your mind, dig deep into your gut, get a plan together and stick to it.</p>

You also know that we aren&#8217;t talking about a few extra pounds; we are talking about 20 plus pounds. In other words we are talking about being obese. One of the best ways for you to have weight loss and lower the odds of being diagnosed with diabetes is exercise. Exercise for diabetics is critical.</p>
<p>Although Type 1 diabetes cannot be prevented exercise is a phenomenal way to help control insulin sensitivity throughout the body. The exertion brought forth by the exercise causes the muscles to burn the glucose more efficiently. But a great side effect of the exercise will cause your metabolism to speed up, which in turn will burn calories thus helping your body to shed those extra pounds.</p>
<p>You should know that even though Type 1 Diabetes cannot be prevented, it is possible to prevent Type 2. One of the first steps you must take to prevent it is commence a weight loss program that combines exercise and healthy eating. You should then follow up step 1 with the proper vitamins and herbal supplements, which in turn reduce insulin sensitivity and help in maintaining a healthy weight.</p>
<p>Recent studies have determined that a 30 minute walk every day can dramatically decrease the possibility of an overweight person contracting Type 2 Diabetes. The natural swing of the arms and legs will increase the circulation to the heart and lungs. This in turn will reduce the chances for heart disease and help avoid the possibility of losing circulation in the lower extremities. This is a deadly side effect of diabetes.</p>
<p>Diabetics and overweight people often suffer from high blood pressure. This as you know causes a shrinking of the blood vessels and restricts blood flow to the extremities of the body, particularly the lower ones. Exercise of course lowers the blood pressure and in doing so opens the blood vessels. Thus increasing the blood flow to the lower extremities; which in turn prevents the terrible damage to the toes and feet of a diabetic or overweight person.</p>
<p>However, this does not happen overnight and it is imperative to your weight loss and control/prevention of diabetes. Because the exercise should be done every day there are some inherent dangers which can be induced by the exercise. The good thing is if you are aware of these dangers you can stay ahead of the game.</p>
<p>1. If you are diabetic or borderline diabetic exercise will lower the blood sugar levels and you may become hypoglycemic. If you exercise alone always have a candy bar or a natural juice (orange juice) or other fruit juices which can quickly restore your blood sugar level.</p>
<p>2. Closely monitor how you feel physically during and after exercise. If you notice that you are feeling weak and drained or experience a sudden onset of hunger it&#8217;s possible your blood sugar levels are dropping below the safe level. Again go for the candy or the juices.</p>
<p>Weight loss and exercise for diabetics go hand in hand. It is important you work with your doctor or other professional health provider to make sure you are doing things right. You can control both weight loss and diabetes, don&#8217;t let them control you.</p>

<p>What you may not know is you may have some preconceived ideas about how to do it and the fact is those ideas are false. It&#8217;s not your fault you believe them, because they have been preached for so many years, by so many people. These legends have taken on a life of their own, when in fact they need to die and be buried forever. This article will give you the true way to shed the extra fat and keep it off.</p>
<p>1. Legend&#8211;Skip Breakfast to lose weight: Not a good idea!<br />
In order for you to lose weight quickly and safely you must eat breakfast. This is what will kick your metabolism into high gear for the day after resting all night. Skipping it also means your body will draw the energy from lean muscle not the excess fat.</p>
<p>2. Legend: Low carbohydrate diets will make it easy to keep off the weight: Partly true, but because your body needs carbohydrates for your energy and the building of muscles you may cause more damage to your overall health. In other words you could negate the good you have done with the weight loss.</p>
<p>3. Legend: Eating what you want when you want it as long as you exercise: Not True! Just because you’re exercising to burn the calories does not mean you can go carte blanch when you eat. It&#8217;s important for you to eat the right foods such as veggies, fruits and lean meats. When you practice the right diet you will keep the weight off naturally and safely.</p>
<p>4. Legend: Restrict your calories to keep weight loss down: Partly true again. You and I both know that true weight loss comes when we reduce the amount of calories we eat. Calories we won&#8217;t burn! But if you reduce your calorie intake way under what you need, for your body to function properly, you are asking for trouble. It&#8217;s important for you to know how many calories your body needs to stay healthy.</p>
<p>There are many more legends or myths that need to be buried, but it’s beyond the scope of this article. Losing weight the right and healthy way doesn’t take an IQ of 160 to figure it out. Nor is it difficult once you set your mind to it.</p>
<p>Look, let&#8217;s face it! There is only one way to lose 15 pounds and keep it off permanently. You and I both know what it is. It is a combination of self-control, eating healthy and exercise. <p>Fast weight loss is so simple that I often wonder why people go the complicated route of starving, crash dieting, dietary supplements, Hoodia, exercise gadgets, etc., when they could achieve their goal just by following simpler and easier methods. </p>
<p>If you ever fall for those diet pills which promise you overnight weight loss, don&#8217;t just blame the seller; blame yourself too, because you were dumb enough to believe in something that sounded too good to be true! Just think about it, when you didn&#8217;t gain weight overnight, how is the same possible in case of weight loss?</p>
<p>If you use your commonsense, then you will be able to see through a lot of these empty claims. Of course, if your commonsense says that you can eat fatty foods and still lose weight just by popping a few pills and doing some crunches and sit-ups, then you need to train your commonsense first! If you ask me, I will say that there are just two weight loss methods you need to follow for getting rid of fat belly and flabby arms!</p>
<p>1. Dieting: By dieting, I don&#8217;t mean following any fad diets, eating raw foods, or starving! By dieting, I mean, healthy eating. It is pure commonsense that if you eat unhealthy junk foods your body will become unhealthy too! Today you are suffering from obesity, tomorrow you may be suffering from diabetes, and so on! </p>
<p>Junk foods are never good for anyone! It is time that you get rid of your &#8216;junk food cravings&#8217; and focus on healthy eating! Include as much of lean meat, fruits and vegetables in your diet as you can, because they would help you lose weight and ward off hunger! </p>
<p>Changing your food habits is not enough for weight loss; you need to monitor your drinks as well. Forget about soda and beer, it is time to replace them with plain water. Unlike soda, water contains zero calories and more importantly, it helps you burn fat by boosting your metabolic rate!</p>
<p>2. Exercise: If anyone said that you need to do only sit-ups or abdominal crunches for weight loss, I won&#8217;t call that person an expert. First of all, if your workouts focus only on one part of your body, you will burn less fat and lose more muscles from that part. You should do workouts which involve your whole body, such as cardios, strength training, etc. </p>
<p>Remember that no matter how hard you try it, spot reduction of fat is impossible, so there is no question of doing only ab crunches or only sit-ups or only push-ups! Instead, why not do a different exercise each day? This way, your boredom regarding workouts would be gone and at the same time, you would be able to lose REAL fat!</p>
<p>You gained weight because of leading an unhealthy lifestyle; obviously then, you need to replace your &#8216;unhealthy habits&#8217; with healthier habits for the purpose of weight loss! It is as simple as that; please don&#8217;t complicate it anymore!</p>
